Sony debuts 24.3MP A6000 mirrorless camera

Sony has just debuted its latest mirrorless camera that packs a 24.3 megapixel sensor, an electronic viewfinder, a tilting LCD, WiFi and NFC – the A6000.

The Sony A6000 is the successor to the 16 megapixel NEX-6 which was announced two years ago. Like the A5000 from last month, it drops the ‘NEX’ in its name in favor of the Alpha brand.
The A6000 sports a 24.3 megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor coupled with a BIONZ X processor. It boasts an autofocus speed of 0.06 second, 179 phase-detect and 25 contrast-detect AF points, 11fps continuous shooting, and a max ISO 25,600. Other features include an OLED viewfinder, a tilting 3-inch 921k-dot LCD, a multi-interface shoe, pop-up flash, WiFi and NFC.

The Sony A6000 with a standard 16-50mm kit lens will arrive in April in U.S. with a price tag of $799.
