Sony A5100: super-fast autofocus camera

Thanks in no small part to smartphones, digital cameras today need to compete not just in raw power but also in portability. To fill its shelves with such products, Sony is launching the new A5100 which boasts of features that would sing to more serious photographers but still comes in a lightweight, ultra-compact package that won't make you feel like you're lugging around half your studio around with you.

Nikon D810 sensor: new DxOMark leader

DxOMark published their test results for the Nikon D810. The new camera showed marginal sensor improvement over the previous D800/D800E models but was still able to take the top rating in their sensor database:

Nikon is rumored to reveal their new D810 DSLR camera this week. The official announcement should be on June 26. In the US we can expect the new camera tonight (Tuesday) or tomorrow around midnight EST (Wednesday or Thursday morning European time).
