Panasonic: only 5 compact cameras next year, focusing on high-end compact and mirrorless?

According to Japan's Nikkei news agency, Panasonic will launch approximately 5 compact cameras in 2014, compared with just half of this year. The company will focus on high-quality camera with a price of 30,000 yen, or about 296 USD or more, and no longer actively involved in low-level camera market.
They will be equipped with special features, such as long optical zoom range, to become stand out from other competitors. Panasonic also put effort to develop mirrorless cameras and mirrorless lens, as well as seeking ways to boost sales for the surveillance camera lens and the optical devices used in the enterprise environment.
The above action is expected to help the company to have a profit in 2014. 2012 and 2013, Panasonic's business segment of the digital camera has losses and sales dropped sharply compared with the previous.
